RealHealthData was founded in 2010 with the goal of providing real world healthcare insights derived from medical transcription documents. The realization early on was that although common data sources like EMR and claims provided a certain degree of insight and analysis opportunities for researchers and the life sciences, the structured nature of those databases meant that in many cases the true voice of the physician and in turn the patient was lost.
Recognizing that this gap existed and was depriving researchers of meaningful information, RealHealthData decided to build a database of unstructured medical records complete with all their color and nuance to capture these interactions.
By working with transcription companies across the country RealHealthData was able to build a database of detailed narrative medical records providing a unique perspective on both patient conditions and physician interactions which today incorporates data from all 50 states and 2 US territories.
RealHealthData's mission is to provide access to a database of unstructured and narrative-based patient physician interactions and in doing so add a meaningful layer of insightful real world healthcare data.
